Iraqi forces launch offensive for control of Mosul

Iraqi and Kurdish forces backed by U.S.-led airstrikes launched co-ordinated army operations early Monday because the long-awaited struggle to wrest the northern metropolis of Mosul from Islamic State fighters acquired underway.
