IS attacks Iraq city of Kirkuk, power plant amid Mosul fight

Islamic State militants armed with assault rifles and explosives attacked targets in and across the northern Iraqi metropolis of Kirkuk early Friday, in an assault that appeared aimed toward diverting Iraqi safety forces from an enormous offensive towards the IS-held metropolis of Mosul.
