Three-year Lafontaine Tunnel overhaul to start next week, creating 'slow and painful' South Shore commute

A monster overhaul of the Lafontaine Tunnel, anticipated to create long-term challenges for South Shore commuters, is about to start subsequent week. The most important refurbishment is predicted to take three years. As of Oct. 31, the capability of the six-lane tunnel shall be decreased by half, with only one lane heading south, and two-way visitors on the northbound aspect, in accordance with a Thursday technical briefing from Quebec’s transport ministry.
